Intellectual Property Paralegal

Permanent Employee, Full-time, Remote, PST Shift
Monthly Net Salary: ₱50,000 to ₱70,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal to support our legal team in managing trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. The ideal candidate has experience in IP filings, docketing, legal research, and administrative support. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage complex deadlines, and a thorough understanding of USPTO and WIPO procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file trademark, patent, and copyright applications with the USPTO, WIPO, and other international IP offices.

  • Manage IP docketing and calendaring of deadlines, ensuring timely responses to office actions, renewals, and maintenance filings.

  • Conduct trademark clearance searches and analyze results using databases such as USPTO TESS, SAEGIS, and WIPO Global Brand Database.

  • Draft and maintain legal documents, correspondence, and reports related to IP prosecution, enforcement, and licensing.

  • Organize and maintain records of assignments, licensing contracts, and other IP-related documentation.

  • Support IP litigation by organizing case files, discovery documents, and exhibits.

  • Monitor infringement issues, domain disputes, and manage opposition or cancellation proceedings.

  • Communicate with clients, foreign associates, and government agencies regarding IP-related matters.

  • Assist in IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and portfolio reviews.

Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; paralegal certification preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an IP paralegal role within a law firm or corporate legal department.

  • Proficient in IP docketing tools (e.g., Anaqua, CPI, FoundationIP), USPTO PAIR/TSDR, and MS Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Preferred: Experience with international IP procedures (Madrid Protocol, PCT, EUIPO).
