Production Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Manager to oversee the end-to-end production process—from coordinating forecasts and purchase orders to managing vendor performance, ensuring product quality, and driving on-time delivery. This role is essential in maintaining operational alignment across the business, building strong vendor relationships, and upholding best-in-class production standards. The ideal candidate has experience in apparel production and thrives in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
Manage the full production lifecycle, ensuring purchase orders (POs) are executed and shipped on time and in full (OTIF).
Monitor production milestones and proactively resolve delays or risks.
Collaborate with Planning and Logistics teams for seamless PO hand-offs and shipment coordination.
Vendor Relationship & Performance Management:
Maintain strong, transparent relationships with global manufacturing partners.
Lead quarterly business reviews using vendor performance scorecards to evaluate KPIs (OTIF, quality, lead times).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with vendors based on performance insights.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Oversee the quality assurance process to ensure product standards are consistently met.
Coordinate quality inspections at key stages of production (e.g., inline, pre-shipment) via internal or third-party QA teams.
Manage QA vendor relationships and ensure timely, actionable inspection reporting.
Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., garment labeling, care labels).
Forecast Management & Raw Material Tracking:
Monitor vendor production forecasts and align on capacity and timelines.
Track adherence to forecasted volumes and delivery schedules.
Oversee raw material readiness owned by vendors to support production timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Planning and Logistics to align production with sales and inventory needs.
Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and vendors, maintaining transparency and production flow.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
5+ years of experience in apparel production or operations, preferably in a start-up or high-growth brand.
Experience managing global vendors and third-party QA partners.
Strong track record of managing production timelines, resolving delays, and upholding quality standards.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-driven in decision-making.
Proficiency in production tools such as Excel and PLM systems.
Familiarity with ERP (NetSuite), PLM (Centric), Anvyl, MRP, or similar production-related platforms.
