Purchasing/Sourcing Specialist (Amazon)
Permanent Employee, Full-time, Remote, PST Shift
Monthly Net Salary: $1,500 to $1,800
Job Summary:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and cost-conscious Purchasing/Sourcing Specialist to manage and optimize supplier relationships for our Amazon private-label and marketplace operations. You will lead supplier sourcing and negotiation, build landed cost models, and manage execution across samples, POs, freight, and replenishment. The ideal candidate combines sharp cost analysis with operational rigor — ensuring inventory flows smoothly to FBA/3PL while hitting margin and OTIF targets.
Responsibilities:
Source, vet, and onboard manufacturers; run RFQs and negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead times, and payment terms
Build and maintain accurate landed cost models, factoring in duties, freight, and FBA fees to achieve margin goals
Coordinate product samples, specs, labeling, packaging, and regulatory compliance for Amazon and category standards
Create and track POs from production through delivery; ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance from suppliers and carriers
Plan FBA replenishment based on sales velocity, restock limits, and storage fees to avoid stockouts and overstock
Manage inbound logistics including shipment creation, ASNs, and compliance with FBA prep and labeling requirements
Maintain accurate item-level data, case packs, and carton dimensions to minimize chargebacks and prep delays
Track vendor performance on cost, quality, lead time, and defect rate; lead corrective actions as needed
Conduct supplier audits and risk assessments, including geopolitical, compliance, and capacity considerations
Drive cost-saving initiatives through negotiation, packaging optimization, freight consolidation, or alternate sourcing
Support continuous improvement in sourcing processes and supplier performance
Requirements:
3+ years in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain — ideally for Amazon FBA or e-commerce businesses
Proven experience negotiating with overseas factories, including MOQs, pricing, and payment terms
Solid understanding of landed cost analysis, profit margins, and Amazon’s fee structures
Hands-on experience with Amazon FBA workflows, including shipment creation, labeling, prep, and 3PL coordination
Working knowledge of quality control checkpoints and regulatory product compliance
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills; familiarity with PO and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Cin7, DEAR)
Strong organization, documentation, and multi-SKU project management ability
Proactive problem-solver who can work autonomously in a fast-paced, remote environment
Familiarity with sourcing and market tools like Helium 10 or Keepa is a plus
Experience with EDI, inventory planning, or demand forecasting is a plus
Category experience in regulated goods such as home improvement products or replacement parts preferred
Exposure to total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis in sourcing decisions preferred
