Accountant

Permanent Employee, Part-time, Remote, PST Shift
Hourly Net Salary: Up to $8

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a hands-on Accountant to own the full month-end close, drive our migration from QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), streamline e-commerce settlements, and establish royalty/licensing reporting. You’ll operate autonomously—delivering clean financials to leadership, building scalable SOPs, and identifying process improvements as the business grows.

Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Close

    • Reconcile bank, credit-card, and payment-gateway activity; close the books by the 10th business day.

    • Prepare and present accurate financial statements to leadership.

  • Royalty & Licensing Reporting

    • Aggregate sales data, apply contract-specific royalty rates, draft partner statements, and create cash-out schedules each quarter.

  • QBD → QBO Migration

    • Map chart of accounts, import historical data, automate bank feeds, and document new SOPs for a seamless transition to QBO.

  • E-commerce Settlement Clean-Up

    • Align Shopify/Stripe (or similar) settlements with the GL; resolve timing differences for sales tax, refunds, and chargebacks.

  • Process Improvement & Scalability

    • Flag gaps in current workflows, propose dashboards, and lay groundwork for SKU expansion and increased transaction volume.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of small-business or e-commerce accounting experience (cash and accrual).

  • Proven, hands-on QuickBooks Online expertise—including system setup, cleanup, and migration.

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (lookups, pivot tables, data analysis).

  • Confidence running the full month-end close independently and presenting results to senior leadership.

  • Royalty or licensing accounting experience is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce finance workflows is preferred.

  • Experience with e-commerce accounting integrators such as A2X or Synder is preferred.

  • Exposure to inventory or COGS standard-cost setups is preferred
